TASMANIAN RURAL EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

A unique opportunity for people with a disability, or who are disadvantaged, to engage in a variety of rural activities during their farmstay provided by experienced support workers.

Glenore Farm will take you away from busy city life and immerse you in the rolling countryside. Situated 30 minutes outside of Launceston, at Whitemore, Glenore Farm is in a central location for many activities, on and off the farm.

You will meet many animals including horses, cows, sheep, chooks, ducks, dogs, cat and goldfish. Witness the majestic mountains while you walk around the farm’s lake teaming with birdlife and stocked with rainbow trout ready to be fished.

General:

Choice: When determining suitable activities for an individual, consultation will take place with that person and their family/carers.

Safety: At all times, safety of participants will be of paramount importance when engaging in activities.

Transport: Picking up from and dropping off participants to their home, and all travel during their farmstay is included.

Cost: All costs of activities will be included in the STA fee apart from personal shopping.

Experienced Support Workers: Neville and Rosemary have over 30 years combined experience in the disability, aged care and mental health sectors.

Accommodation: Spacious private rooms.

Food: Fully catered with much of the produce homegrown. Will consider all dietary needs.

Length of Stays: 2-5 days.
